Man I tell you what, Microsoft sucks big time!I got my wife a new computer two X-mas's ago and now after putting about 2000 pictures on it
it craches
So I try restore, no good, I have tryed all the help files on Microsofts help pages, no good!
Any one got some Vista help I need it.
It tries to boot but about 1/2 way it just turns off, power and all
Give me XP Pro any day!
I do have most all pictures backed up, but the last couple weeks we put allot on and these are not backed-up yet
Any help![]()
Sounds like it could be a hardware problem. If so, it's not Microsoft's fault. If it totally shuts off, it's probably the motherboard or power supply. Better get it looked at.
The good news is if it is hardware, your pictures should be safe and recoverable.

Computer Geek. It may run you a bit, but will be worth it. Most these computer fix it places do good work and many even install free spyware/adware stuff. At least when ya get it cleaned up and back, you can look forward to a couple more years.
Last I heard, if you get one to last you 2-3 years, your doing good. I had a sony viao for 6 years fore the mother board fried. Never crashed it, and took constant care with scans/fixes and such. Computer guy said he had never seen a viao last that long....which amazed me. I thought they were suspose to last for years and years, but with electronics and everything else, things are built now a days on a line of "it will last till it's outdated, then time to break and get another one.
A gun in hand is a lot better than a cop on the phone.
I use clickfree has 320gb when you plug it in it will backup info and pictures. every so often it will remind you to backup new info and pictures. just adds new info and pictures.
Today is a great day

I feel you pain. Had to have my wife's laptop rescued at Best Buy by the Geek Squad.
They did a great job but relieved me of a couple hundred bucks. But now, I have a fully-functional, clitch-free computer that does exactly what it is supposed to do.

a computer is like a filing cabinet. when it gets full, you empty it & then start filling it again. cd's are veary cheap. when you start seeing it get full, put the stuff on a cd & start over. don't visit websites or pop ups that can cause trouble. after having quite a few computers & not be a wize at it, i find that it was my own mistakes that caused all the problems.
GOD bless & good luck.:
