    Default What's for Dinner?

I'm craving those carbs so I'm going to make some spaghetti and home-made sauce, Caesar salad with Newman's Own dressing, and some bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Girlfriend's on vacation with her family so I'm going to eat more than I should and veg out on the couch and watch tv and Crappie.com it up

Sounds good there. I'm familiar with straight olive oil and bread but never tried it with the addition of balsamic vinegar.

I used to always make my salad dressing with 5 parts red wine vinegar and 4 parts olive oil with a good sprinkling of Mrs Dash's table blend. After hearing the shoerboy from the Virginia board talk about using balsamic vinegar I switched the red wine vinegar for the balsamic vinegar and now that is what I use for all my salads now and really like it. Right now the balsamic vinegar and olive oil on bread doesn't sound good but I'll sure be trying it out to check it out.

Do you dip your bread in the mixture or is it drizzled onto the bread?

Yeah dip the bread in it. I forgot to mention that I also put some fresh-cracked black pepper on top of the oil. I also put the bread in the oven and (lightly) toast it. Pour some olive oil on a small plate, and drop the vinegar into it... don't need much vinegar

Here it is getting past my bedtime and you all are trying to make me hungry.

I can't be eating anything now if I have to be getting up at 3:30 am in the morning to see if the crappie are wanting to play tomorrow.

I had Poor Boy Shish Kabobs. Instead of steak, I use 2" pieces of Johnsonville Brats. All the rest the same. Onion, bell peppers, mushrooms and cherry maters. Lightly coat with olive oil, salt/pepper to taste and off to the grill. They ought to call it "Meal on a Stick".
