    Default Big Lake last Friday

Well had a day off Friday so I decided to see if the shrimp wanted to take a ride in my boat. Well I guess they had heard the stories of my leaking boat because they were just about jumping in my boat! Fooled them, I went in my boat that doesn't leak. Finished off my limit in 1 hour.

Nice catch Dwayne, I got me 40 pounds yesterday but I had to buy mine for 2 dollars a pound. I still consider it a bargain.

What size did you buy PPG? I've seen the small ones priced like that, but never found bigger ones...I may need to make a run down there to NOR for work and find some.

Nice catch Dwyane! Have you got that box in the mail yet? If not, it should be soon.

    Hi Scott,
The shrimp I bought were right off the boat. A friend of mine just happened to be at the right place at the right time. The shrimper was having boat trouble and needed to get rid of his catch real fast. I had put in an order with my friend who has a land let, but the shrimp aren't running yet at his net. So when this oppertunity came up he gave me a call and I told him heck yeah. I wish I could have handled twice that amout but I have Linda laid up with back problems. The shrimp were mixed right out of the nets. Around 50 percent were large, 35 percent medium, and 15 percent small. That to me was a perfect mix. In fact there could have been a little more in the medium and small range. We eat a lot more gumbos and spaghetti with shrimp in them than we fry or grill. The smaller shrimp have more flavor when cooked like that. Good luck in finding you some as the season is in full swing and soon they will be catching smaller shrimp and the weather cools. Each frontal passage drives them out of the marshes and the big ones go first.

You sure got a great deal then! I've had a few "right time, right place" things come along, and you just can't beat it. Not sure how soon I'll make it down, so I'll just play it by ear. Tell Ms Linda I hope she feels better soon!
