I'm sitting at home trying to figure out why I still have a land line telephone. Caller ID shows me that 23 of the last 25 calls were either complete scams or unwelcome solicitations. Can't see that the "Do Not Call" list had any effect at all. Just today I've had 3 solicitations for donations, a call from "Todd at the Fulfillment Department", and an offer of credit card debt relief. Ordinarily I don't even bother to answer the house phone anymore. It's getting tiresome.

I only have one because it was a cheaper price for cable/ net/ phone, than just cable/net. Weird but true.

I'm keeping my land line, use it often via AT&T. It's buried under the ground out here, not going to rely on an internet service, nor towers and satellites for phone service. All though Ann and I have cell phones. Cable comes in for internet service only, television across the antenna. Don't watch folks killing ducks, gators, bigfoot, or the Kardashians.

Another thing I want to make perfectly clear:

Same here ....I totally understand your frustration.....

True, it's tiring for sure. With Ann's advice, I listened trough some recordings - then was connected to a live person from India, or who knows where. One was about credit card debt - told them I have none, didn't know what they're talking about. Another about refinancing about something, told them I don't finance anything. Others that call about solicitations, tell them I was laid off and now live in a tent.

Actually it's kinda fun playing these people. The phone calls have been reduced drastically.
