Thats what I found at the lake yesterday. Anyone care to chime in here and give a falls report? Fish are there but not biting. Only managed 2 fish and that was late in the day.
I have not really been on it lately but I am going to be switching over to night fishing again soon. My theory about the spillway is that the lake is so high now (what a difference from last year huh?) that the water is not spilling over.. That was what was drawing fish.. when the water is spilling over the fish will be back.
Falls Lake has been tough lately. Last week I fished all day to put 6 in the boat. Heck, I even squirrel hunted beside the lake Saturday,,, no squirrels either lol. Maybe they'll get hungry soon, I'm gonna be back on the water in the next week or so I'm sure, I hope to post a better report than my last one.
Things did not get much better on Sunday. After the rain quit I decided to give it another try. Got to the lake about noon and fished till 5:30 and only managed 2 fish that I gave to another couple with a little girl who were keeping every little catfish they caught. When I put the crappie in their bucket it made their cats look tiny. There was one guy fishing in his boat out from me on shore and he was marking lots of fish in the 15 to 20 foot range but said he just could not get them to bite. I was fishing below them at the time and the 2 I caught were right after he told me the depthe they were holding at but they were the only 2 takers. P;enty of fish but not many feeding. Go figure. Wonder why.
Same problem at Rhodhiss. Trolled Tuesday & caught 30, water temp was
47-48 degrees. Went back Saturday & caught 3. Water temp was 41 degrees sat.
