Thumbs up Eno and Flat River 1/3

Man that morning fog made for a weird drive to the ramp! On 98 I had no idea of where I was untill I went through a traffic light :S

Met up with Buzzbait and we headed up the Flat to the area I was last Sunday afternoon. Took a few minutes to find the fish, but once we did it was on :D. After a while we moved down stream where the majoriy of the people were fishing and setup again and worked our way from there to where it meets up with the Eno.

Biggest fish of the day was 1.3#, and was caught where the Eno and Flat come together. The total in the basket was 27. We also offered alot to the "fish god" :D (Threw back). So the total fish caught was "Alot"

Jigs outfished minnows. The majority were caught on my favorite chartruce w/orange tail, but chartruce with sparkels on it and purple with sparkles on it workerd good to. Fish were again tight to the bottom and for some reason Buzzy seemed to be a magnet for snags

It was an excelent day on the water!

I know I have seen that saying before! Got to poke a little fun at buzzbait LOL, at times my poles were bouncing off the bottom then when his would pass over the same spot he'd hang up. Could have been the hooks he was using.

Hey, bearclaw you going to fish up at Weldon this spring?? I bet all those Striper that were just at 18" or slightly under grew a little bit for this year. I think there are gonna be alot of nice fish caugh up there this spring

Great catch Redboat. I've only been there once (Eno River) and we didn't do that well. But everyone we talked to said it was one of those days and a day or two before that they all did pretty good. Anyway do you troll, drift or anchor on brush there. I don't fish much in moving water and need some pointers. Thanks

REDBOAT,if the good lords willing,I'll be there.I only fished one day at weldon last spring, after keeper season closed.I fished with my good friend fish tales in his boat,he has a 21' skiff,3 of us from SC split the cost and picked up a freind who lives up that way.We caught a lot of fish but I dont know if we would have had 8 keeper sized fish though. We did get in a big school of nice size white perch and kept around 50.Gave a few of them to a guy at the landing and the others got ate in SC.I think thats the first white perch I have caught in my 8 years of going there.

Hey REDBOAT.. Thanks again for the trip.. It sure was nice to get out on the river again and catch a few fish. So we ended up with 27??, cool.. We threw back at least that many. We were there around 6:30 and fished till 1. I thought the morning bite was far better than the early afternoon. REDBOAT and I were on a pretty nice hole of fish first thing but decided to move off and try a few different places. I do think if we had hung out in that spot we could have had one of those 100 fish days. At some points we had 4 fish on at one time. The FIREDRILL as Red called it..
Well it was FUN, fun I had not had in a couple years now. Thanks Again REDBOAT..

sea-sons, I normally do a controlled drift, tightlining close to the bottom using 1/2 ounce bullet sinkers a foot or so above a hook or 1/32 jig head.
