Had the best day this fall. Took my son and a friend from church who had never been. Total for the day was around 70 with 25 keepers and 3 over a pound. All on minnows 25-30 ft water 2-3 cranks off bottom. Water temp 50. Had a whole herd of boats show up around 1 00 overheard one say they had been to Jordan in a mess of 50 or so boats and no fish my guess was 64 bridge. Had to leave around 2 30 and the other boats left at the same time. At last something worth reporting.
Sounds good to me. Thats a lot of fish. Bet that was some fun. Maybe they getting started. Thanks for the report.
Sounds like a good day on Harris. 25 keepers?? Is there a size limit on Harris now? Or just a self imposed limit of not taking small fish? Just curious, I don't get on Harris much. Wouldn't keep any under 10 inch myself--not worth the hassle of cleaning for the little piece of meat.
Tight lines.

That's great to hear, I'm going out there on Friday. I have yet to go out to Harris and not bring my limit home. I don't know why more people don't go to Harris instead of Jordan. I have never been out there this time of year and been conjested. By the way 8" length limit and 20 per person.
Wisker
did not know they put a limit on harris? interesting!

Thanks Wisker, thats good to hear. I saw a lot of 6-8 inch fish taken out of there before--what a waste as far as I'm concerned. I think the 10 inch limit on Jordan has really helped out with the sizes there. Would expect the 8" on Harris to pick up the sizes in there after a few years too. Good news. Thanks.

They are not covered by a specific Harris reg so if you revert back to the NC reg that is where it says 8" limit with a 20 per day creel limit. I did not want to get caught with more than my limit when I started fishing for them last winter.
there is no creel or size limit at harris lake according to page 19 of the nc inland water regultions.but most observe the 10-in 20 fish that jordan has also at harris!

Well you have to wonder why there is a limit on Jordan and not on Falls. I know there is a good reason not to have a limit on Falls but have never heard just what that official reasoning is. It has not seemed to be a problem for Falls not having a limit though as there does not seem to be any shortage of Crappie in the lake. When you get into the time of year that the fish school up or spawn there are a lot of folks that keep everything they catch no matter how small. I have never found that to be necessary at Falls since when you are catching fish there there always seems to be adequate supply of larger fish. Its just greedy to kill the little ones.
Fc.i Think There Should Be Statewide Limits On Every Species.for The True Fisherman, they Are Only Gonna Keep What They Need For Food.what I Cant Understand Is How Some People Get Away With Throwing Cast Nets And Get Away With Everything In The Net.i Think You All Know Who I Am Talking About!
