    Smile Rhodhiss 12-30-08

Finally got back out on the water with Skeeterguy today. We arrived at about 11 a.m. Skeeterguy got off to a quick start catching three on his tightlines up front. After he got three in the boat, I finally connected on the longlines out the back. We had a great day for a couple of rookie trollers as we ended up with 30 solid keepers and a nice bluegill. Also caught a couple of small stripers. The fish were in water ranging from 8' to 14' and seemed to favor blue, chartreuse and black. Anyway thanks to Skeeterguy for getting me back on the water after a good deer season. It was a great way to get back to fishing. Thanks Skeeterguy! Looks like we just beat the incoming cold front, but we'll get back out there soon!

Thanks FishCrazy. I am definitely pleased with our results today. Winter fishing is new to both of us, so we would have been happy with anything. 30+ was a real bonanza for us. CBNC, I think that 18 on Norman is a pretty good day. Were you using jigs or minnows? I have heard that minnows on jigheads are deadly on the Norman docks. Anyway I am glad we all got to go and spend a nice day out on the water. The fish are a bonus!

Crowderj we'd be glad to share our limited knowledge of trolling with you. Give us a shout and we'll give it a try. I still want to get with you and try the winter catfishing too. Have a Happy New Year!
