Popular spot!
I wasn't born here, but I got here as fast as I could
thats about a joke i beleive i could do without a bite if that was the only way
[never snap at the hand that feeds ya
Glad I wasn't fishing there!!! I would have to find my own fish somewhere else.
This scene made little sense to me until I peered a little closer and discovered the small skiff in the middle of the armada with the larger than life sized birthday cake with something sticking out the top. And aren't those beer kegs floating in the left hand side of the picture?
Seriously, for those of you who aren't skiffless, I must ask, "Why?"
Are Jordan crappie anglers just particularly social?
Is it possible Jordan crappie are just as social and prefer to commingle in about 5 acres of a 14 thousand acre reservoir?
A huge swath of the lake down near the dam is deeper than the water found at the 64 bridge. Shouldn't this area be pretty good for crappie fishing about now when everyone says the fish are holding the bottom?
What about all that standing timber in the deeper sections between buoy 9 and 10? Seems like structure crappie would be drawn to.
What do y'all think?
I am with you on this one painterfish....don't need it that bad.
Well that does look a little crowded but if all those people know one another and get along it could be fun. Certainly not for some though. I believe if I had a boat I would be looking for a more secluded spot though.
There must be some reason the fish stack up there or there wouldn't be a crowd like that, everyone would be fishing by themselves. We went a couple of times last winter & it wasn't that bad. Get there early, anchor out good, & wait for the action to start!

Crappie fishing is my lighthouse of sanity in an insane world,
It keeps me from crashing on the rocky shores of everyday life.
Crappie.com is my beacon of light!
I'm sure that is a good spot but c'mon man Jordan is a large lake and I Know all of the Crappies are not under the 64 bridge. People read it on forums and articles and they go there instead of finding their own honey hole. I get much more satisfaction finding fish and figuring them out even if it takes me a little longer. Isn't that what fishing is? Fine tuning your skills is awsome!
I've only had one chance to fish the past month, but last year I did very well in the brigade. I enjoy talking with guys in the other boats. For the most part, it's one big happy family if they are biting. It's kind of like a taste of life in the brigade--most people are decent and respectful, but every now and then a bad apple comes along.
That's just a small sample of how big that "Brigade" will get over the next few months.
It's usually civil though and somewhat interesting to observe.
