    Default High Rock 10/26

We went back to the rock Sunday. What a pretty day. Started out long line trolling jigs around a high spot in about 20'. Bam, bam, bam, we had 6 pretty good keepers on the first pass by the high spot around 8:00am then they turned off. Caught one here and there for the next few hours out on the river. Decided to go up in a creek where we had a few brush piles and caught a few on those with jigs and minnows. Then went on back in a couple of coves and caught some keepers in as shallow as 2'. My buddy was using cork and minnows and I was casting jigs. Both worked about the same. Anyway finisihed the day by trolling jigs back out at the mouth of that creek. Caught'em pretty good there for about an hour. Ended up with our limit. No big ones though. We had 6 between 3/4lb and a pound. But mostly 9 - 10 inchers.

Hello Bill. We don't go up there much, but we talked about it yesterday. My buddy didn't think his 19' Carolina Skiff would make it under the #8 bridge. Is the bridge that low?

It's low! My friend with a 198 DLX Carolina Skiff says he can't get under #8 when the lake is full. I doubt my 1765 DLX Skiff will either.

I am new to NC, so apologize for this question. I see several of you guys mention fishing the creek or river on High Rock for crappie. May I ask where or how to get to these on the lake. I usually put in at the ramp on 8. I usually head out to the main channel, but notice the bridge on the left. Is that the direction you guys take for abbotts?

Also, I have a boat and love to fish for crappie, but need some help figuring out High Rock. If someone would like to help me one weekend, I would love to have some one join and make a friend in the process. I live in Thomasville, so not very far from the lake.

    Thanks
    Jeremy

best thing i can tell ya to do is buy a lake map, and follow up with the reports that way. kinda hard to say where with directions.

    That can be arranged.:D
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
