    Default Greenville, NC area

Hey everyone, I just recently moved to Greenville and wondering if any one knows of any nice spots for crappie. Has anyone tried fishing the Tar River i noticed a landing down by the air port that goes into it. Any help would be appreciated.

Try lake Wyle for crappie, or mabey Lake Norman if driving isnt a concern.

Jimbob, I don't know much about the Tar but you are not far from the Roanoke river or the Pamlico river. I know there are good numbers caught out of Trantors creek on the pamlico river. There are good numbers on the Roanoke. I can't see why there would not be any in the Tar. Go to Greenville marine to the tackle store part and ask the guys there. there is someone usually working there that could give you some good info. You are also not very far from the Tar river reservoir south of Rocky Mount. I am about an hour and 15 minutes from you up in Edenton and fish the coastal rivers up here for crappie. there is a fellow named SUNDROP on here that is from Washington N.C. that fishes the Pamlico but I have not seen him on here lately. Good Luck. let me know how you do. I am interested in that river my self. CF

I used to live in Greenville and caught a lot of crappie in the Tar River. This time of year put in at Port Terminal and fish around the pilings and trees along both shores leading to the river.

Used to be a Greenville guy name sundrop or something like that posting on here may want to check archives. Certain times of the year big ones over at Lake Mattamuskeet as well as monster crabs.
