    Default Jordan 9/13/08

    As all of you know i am still new to crappie fishing. I went out all morning and did not catch a single crappie. I must have caught 20 white fish i am assuming they are white perch let me know what i was doing wrong. Are these fish good to eat? Let me know

    Yes the white perch is excellent fish for the table. Actually taste's better to me than the crappie. Don't know how you were fishing so doing something wrong for crappie other than not being where they were is not a problem. Same techniques for WP and crappie. WP usually are a bit shallower than crappie but school up just as crappie do. There are some real experts on the the forum so give some details of how and where you fished and you will get some advice I'm sure. iamfishing

    I was just trolling the about 100 ft from the shore line in and round coves. I was using like a carolina rig with small egg sinker and beatle spin. It was hot out there today.

    What section of the lake were you on? I didn't catch any whites today. Usually don't, but I wouldn't mind if I did as long as they were of a decent size to eat.
