I wanted to go to the Seaforth landing at Jordan and fish the bridge area this Friday evening/night. The NC parks website says Seaforth Rec. Area is closed Sept 8th thru sometime in October though. Does anyone know if they have the boat landing closed as well as the Rec. area? I tried to call them but the machine wouldn't give me an answer when I asked it my questionWrote them an email...no telling when and if that will be answered
Has anyone seen the lake in the last couple of days...did they draw some water off? Sounded like a mess there for a few days with the rains from last week. Any info is appreciated!!!
I am going to fish around there too (64 bridge area) and I plan on useing the ebeneezer (sp?) ramp if it is open...
Well dang.....NC Parks answered my email in like 10 minutes. That was a welcome surprise. She told me yes Seaforth landing will be closed during that period. They may get it open sooner than the website said in October but it depends on the contractor. She suggested I use White Oak landing. Never been to that one. NC Parks map I have doesn't show White Oak as 24 hour access either. I could go to Ebenezer or Farrington but with all the debris floating I really dont want to be dodging logs at 1 AM in the dark. Maybe I should just fish the Ebenezer area. Good luck Redboat. Ebenezer is suppose to be open.
Still like to know how the lake looks in water level and floating debris from someone who's been there in the last couple days.

Thanks Olefisher you too! Well be lauchching between 7:30 and 8:00 or so
the gas "crisis" that just jumped us in the last 6 hours may affect my trip to Jordan.By the time I get back and used my tank of gas they may not be any to buy!!

Have you been across Jordan and can give us an up date on the Lake?
Water level still up and /or debre still across the Lake?
I might just cross over tomorrow morning and check on things ..........
Still A Lot Of Debris On The Water! Would Not Want To Be Zooming Across The Lake Right Now!
GET IN, SIT DOWN, HOLD ON, AND BE VEWY VEWY QUITE!!!!!
I rarely zoom anytime at Jordan. Jordan has too many unmarked hazards I don't know yet. Jasmine says she's going across Friday morning so I'll get her report, check the "gas crisis situation" and decide from there about the trip.
I scouted all the areas:
Farrington is good, both ramps are loadable now-the beach area at Farrington is still under water. LOTS of boats this morning out. Good sign!
At Bells and Ebeneezer is good to. I saw no debre' floating.
very good advice... almost hit what appeared to be one of those bamboo condo's last week floating around. It was during the day too. Those bamboo poles dont sit high above the water, and with a little chop you can barely see them. Also missed a floating stump/log a few nights ago, by about 5 feet! That one would have been disaster, sharp points all over it. You dont think about what could happen until it does. My buddy laughs when i drive like granny on jordan lake, but he doesnt realize the outcome of hitting a stump in a thin fiberglass boat. I cant stand it when someone isnt serious about safety. I'd rather be able to go back out the next day than to be going to pick up pain killers from the pharmacy and filing an insurance claim. LOL
