Fished Badin Sunday from 2:00pm till 9:00pm. Went way up river and the water was moving, didn't realize it was that swift. Decided not to fight it, came back down the left side from the dam fished behind the big island on the left. Caught fish in the grass and laydowns down the bank and up the backside of the island. All the fish were keepers between 10" and 14". Fish were shallow from the bank to 4 feet deep. Ended up with 30 crappies and one 5lb largemouth. Tossed them all back to catch again another day. All the fish were caught on a electric chicken color tassel tail grub jig. Been to Badin several times seems like the size of crappie there is bigger than on High Rock but I do usually catch bigger numbers on High Rock. Behind that island I was fishing there looked like some kind of bird houses on poles, anybody know what those are for? Ducks maybe?
Could be for wood ducks.
Nice catch. Did you mark much bait up river?
