Been reading the posts here and trying to learn about crappie fishing. Never been crappie fishing or even caught one that I can remember! Guess it would help to have a boat also! Working on getting a boat for next summer...this fishing from the shore just isn't going to cut it. I have fished mostly for flounder, blues, trout ...etc when I lived at the beach. Now that I live 5 hrs from the beach I am trying to switch back to freshwater fishing. You folks here seem to really enjoy crappie fishing and especially at night! I guess its due to less traffic on the water! I saw that "Pete" had an open seat at the begining of the week - would have tagged along but I think I need more than just one fishing rod.....thanks to a thief in the parking lot of Home Depot that snatched my fishing gear.
That High Rock Lake seems to be a good place and also for some "night stalking"! Anyways if someone has another open seat, a couple of extra rods and don't mind taking a crappie fishing newbie let me know! Talk at you guys later!

Gotta go.......FISH ON !!
I only fish on days that end in"Y"
Welcome filletum. I agree with ya on the bank fishing, its tough sometimes but it can be good as well. I enjoy it myself but dont do much of it when the fish arent there. It can be good if you find a good spot though. Only thing is that a good spot is not usually a lonely place if ya get my drift. Thats the price of admission though.
