Thread: Rhodhiss 8-31-08

Went to Rhodhiss last nite with Skeeterguy and his two sons. Skeeterdude fished in my boat while Skeeterguy and his older son fished in their boat. We did pretty well all in all. Skeeterdude and I caught 30-40 and kept 20. Skeeterguy and his son did about the same. We called it quits at about midnight. Everybody had a good time and I will let Skeeterguy tell you about his rod retrieval methods. That was my first nightstalk in over a month. It's been a good summer, but now it's time to get out that new bow and sit in some trees for awhile. Also, went trout fishing on Saturday with my brother and we caught an amazing 33 rainbows and browns. That will probably do it for the trout fishing revival for this season, but it was good to get back on those streams again. Ended up catching about 50 trout over the last five weeks. Anyway I don't know how much more fishing I will do for the rest of the year, but good luck to all of you and I will be checking in from time to time. I especially want to hear from Poppop to see how his deer season is going. Tightlines to all!

thanks for the report chug....sounds like ya'll had a good time.........I don't do much bow hunting...might try it the last couple weekends of October....going to fill up the feeders...put out about a half dozen climbers in some ambush areas....I already know there a big boy roaming around...my buddy killed one right beside me on his lease last year...10 pointer...18 1/2 inch inside...and told me he saw a even bigger one.

Poppop, I hope you get him. We have some acorns falling up here, so the corn becomes a second fare for awhile. Our muzzleloader season is the week of Oct. 6th, so just a short first bow season until we get out our smokepoles. Good luck and I hope you have a great deer season.
