Falls Lake?????
Surely someone has been on Falls over the last week or so....I tried it out on Friday and only managed 7 or 8 crappie, and only 2 made it to the live well...only to be returned at the landing...but what really made the day were 6 lg mouth...3 of which went 3 - 4 1/2 lbs...water temp ranged 65 to 68 degrees....I think my mistake was staying on the bank...ALL day..and they weren't there! Oh well...the bass on a 12 ft bream buster and 6 lb test was certainly a hoot! Hopefully, better luck next time..

Im with you on the Falls reports. There doesnt seem to be many who fish the lake or report about it. Seems Vince and Redboat are the among the few that post info on Falls. I havent fished it in a couple of weeks now but have had miserable luck there since the water started rising and the weather warming up. I guess I just aint fishing in the right places. I pulled a bunch of fish out of the channel this winter but those fish went somewhere that I just dont know where. And it has rained every weekend since the beginning of time it seems as well as blowing to beat the band every weekend, So Go Figure! Whats a fisherman to do? Go to Jordan I guess. Some nice bass in there though. Glad you found them. What area of the lake did you fish?

Hey FC...put in at 50 and fished several coves, both sides, back to the south..also fished a few lay downs near the main channel. The lake is full, and according to the pollen line, it had been even higher by a foot. Gonna try again this week, perhaps Thursday, we'll see what happens.

sounds like you had an ok day, do you have a boat or a canoe?

Hey strickleefun That is an area that I fish a lot through the winter months and the channel there from the point to the dam face is a great hole for crappie in the pre spawn times and Im thinking that they went up into beaverdam lake to spawn. Probably up in the shallow flats in the north end. Bout time for them to come back I guess. I may check that area out again this weekend if the wind and rain dont act up yet again. Last few times I have been there the fish were nowhere to be seen though and everyone said that it had been real slow.

Hey Strickleefun and Fishcrazy, the last time I fished at Falls I went to Beaverdam Lake off Weaver Trail and caught several over ten inches. I don't keep any under ten. Jordan spoiled me. This was before the weekend rains. The place was packed but friendly, which is something that I can't always say about Bells Church pier. I like fishing at that pier and I love the lights but folks there, too, throw stuff everywhere on the pier and in the water. I watched a guy let his plastic bags blow into the water and not once did he try to retrieve em. I couldn't reach em to snag em.
A few years ago I asked a sheriff's deputy where the trash cans were and he said people kept stealing them, so they stopped replacing them. Oh well.

Hey Ms Catfish. Do you fish up above the road there at beaverdam in the skinny water or just from shore there in the lake. I wondered about the fish moving up further than the road bed there. I have seen people stoped and fishing off of old weaver road that runs acrosss to cheek road in what looked like the very shallow swampy areas there close to the road and wondered how they did there. I think that would be ledge rock creek arm.

Falls Lake???
Fishcrazy, I have heard about folks fishing in that swampy area off Cheek Road but no way am I gonna do it. Snakes! But folks have said they've caught big white perch in there. I like to fish in Beaverdam Lake where a small road divides two sides of the lake. Often the road is underwater in the middle but folks can still fish. We can park our cars right beside us. It makes packing and unpacking really easy and you can even sit in your car if it's windy.

lee,
ive been out a few times lately, but there hasnt been much to report. averaging 7 or 8 keepers per trip. one trip i kept 2 large white perch just for a taste test. i wouldnt make cervache with it but it fried and braised up fine.
firing roadrunnuers around shallow cover and points/humps has been producing better than spider rigging/trolling.
i was planning on moving up to beaver this week but that dang work thing keeps getting into the way.
God bless America

We might be out Friday night... I drove over the lake today and it looked pretty muddy though. Speaking of Beverdam, I was wondering if you could put a boat with a gas motor on as long as we are just not useing it???
