Default A Good Day On The River.....

Me and my 8 year old son fished the river today and had a Ball!:D It would take all day to tell the whole story, But here are a few pictures. We caught over 20 bass ( Large mouth and small mouth ) 1 White Bass and some Brim. My son caught THe biggest fish of the day, It was over 5 Lbs.:D I broke off my 1 st fish and about one hour later and a hundred yards up river I caught it again and got my bait back, Thats a story all by it's self. Had a lot chaser but not a lot of takers, They would follow the bait all the way to the boat but would not take it. But all in all a GOOD DAY.:D

The bass that I caught twice with the first bait in it's mouth

Great pics. Looks like your son had a great time. Glad for it. That one pic, where you got your bait back, that bass looks like some wierd power plant side effect. Kinda strange. :D

Those are great pics, Countryboy. Your son is one handsome fella. I believe in those memories...can't erase those!
Was that the Cape Fear...split going up toward Jordan?

I've taken my son down the Haw side of that and enjoyed catching a few. Looks like good weather later this week for it.

Broad River, west of Shelby NC.:D I have grown up fishing this River, It is in my back yard. We love fishing the river, lot of fish in it. Catfish, bass, brim, some crappie, few white bass, and a few suckers. You never know what you might catch next.:D

Mainly flukes. Tried other baits but they didn't want them. Most of the bass were chasing shad, they were popping out of the water everywhere. That's the days I like, You can catch them on the top.:D
