Left to go to Norman about two on Friday, was in a rush and forgot some rods, knapsack, and landing net. Did not find out till it was too late. Arrived, dropped some brush, and headed to Ramsey Creek. Caught 11 perch, most on a homeade sabaki rig, some on minnows. Dad caught numerous bass on a shad rap. Striper fished around some shoals and caught two nice bass. Called it a day before dark.
Left for Wateree around 9 on Saturday. Dropped some brush, and met up with friends at the Cedar Creek Dam. They had caught two small stripers on minnows. We cast out live shad on freelines, and soon hooked up with something big. Capt. Harry was using a 12 foot european carp rod with 8 lb test and was pulling shad as well. The fish he hooked up with turned out to be a solid 8lb striper. Dad caught 3 white bass, I caught a channel cat. Tried crappie fishing but had no luck. Called it a day at 4 o clock.

Some of the bravest men lay in the ground from Ft Moultrie to Appomattox.
Ah h3ll. He tried dad. Better than I did this week. Buddy caught one catfish lastnight at Wylie and I got a bad fuel pump. Forget a new boat, this has just turned into a game of let's go fishin and see what Ima replace when I get back. It's fun![]()

Might have to get a smaller boat and give that a try, those 3 I got on Sat were a blast.
I know my boat won't ever see those rocky shoals up from HW 9.!!!!
