Default April 26 2008 High Rock Report

Left early, put in at Buddle Creek. Worked docks at Tarawood, caught a few with a couple of keepers. Went on up worked docks on the left side of Abbotts Creek, found one that was hot. Caught about 20 there with several keepers over 10". Went to the Holloways Bridge and tied off under the bridge to get out of the sun and have some snacks. We tightlined in 17 feet of water under the bridge catching several crappie and a couple of keepers. Went on down Abbotts toward the Hwy 8 bridge, worked some docks. Found two docks that was hot. On one of them caught about a half dozen that were mostly between 11 and 12 inches and about 20 more smaller than that. On the second dock, we caught about 20 or so more, with several more 10+ keepers. Caught probably 75 crappie today and had 17 keepers over 10". They like minnows 18" deep, slow cranking a orange and chartruse 1/32 jig, a red and white 1/32 jig and the "Gilby" a red and chartruse jig which I unfortunately left on someones underwater boat railing. This was our best day yet on the Rock.

Glad to hear that they are biting. Plan on hitting the rock tomorrow, weather permitting So hopefully I will be able to pull a few out.

Thanks the report poppop. I am sorry to say that I will NOT be fishing this weekend. I am headed off to work this morning instead of the lake.
    Tight lines to everyone

gilby that is actually the first "Gilby" I lost...they like it pretty darn good. All you have to do it throw it out...do about a 6 second countdown and a slow retrieve....and bam...I believe I caught three in a row on it yesterday. I still have a couple of more...I'll be hollering at you later for more.

I have to get my cabin set up next weekend...i.e turning on the water, mowing, putting in a new living room suit and such. That is going to cut into my High Rock time for a few weekends. I am hoping I can still slip out during the afternoon hours for the next few weeks.

Crappiefinder, thats a bummer....you probably won't miss much today...according to the weather man.
