    Default High Rock 4/23/08

Went to High Rock in the morning and put my boat at Southmont boat access. Its kinda of windy but i like. Caught my limit by drifting in the wind. Most of them were 9-10inches, got a few that were 11. I was drifting at about 20-25 ft of water using minnows, but did get much of jigs. Also caught about 7 catfish, most of them were good size. Alot of people told me that they didn't do good at all. I thinking the reason why is because they fish shallow expecting the fish to be shallow. Most of them are still full of eggs, so that tells me that some are not heading shallow to spawn yet.

Gilby I am gonna try to get out of work tomorrow about lunch...and put in a Buddle. Picking up the grandkids and wife on the dock when they get out of school and we are gonna fish for a few hours. Saturday is supposed to be rainy again.....maybe a few will bounce out way.

poppop, looking forward to a report. I am going to try this weekend, rainy or not. I did not make it last weekend like I thought I would. Something came up. Story of my fishing life. That is why I did not post a report earlier in the week. Hopfully I will have a good report by late sunday/early monday.
    Tight lines to everyone

What color jigs do you use? Sounds like you had a good day on the water.

great...got the holdup worked out at work...on the water at Buddle by 12:30....worked the docks around Tarawood caught about 20....with about 4 keepers with a couple around 11 inches and about a three pound channel cat. Then picked up my granddaughter at the boat ramp after school and off just the two of us went. Worked the docks near Holloways Church Road catching about 15 more with 3 more keepers over 10". She hooked one nice crappie near a dock and got it almost to the boat until it rolled over and got off. Looked like it was about 14 inches....wished she would have gotten than one in the boat. They liked minnows and beetle spins running orange and chartruse and red and white jigs. And the white perch liked the red and white jigs also. None of the crappie had eggs, guess they have spawned out.

Ran into Kellogg and we exchanged fish stories....good luck tonight Kellogg ifyou make it back out.

Thinking about going to Tuckertown early in the morning....
