    Default Jordan 4/18/08

MRS MONK AND I LAUNCHED TRITON AT 10:30 AM AT FARRINGTON POINT. FISHED WHITE OAK CREEK. WORKED HARD TO CATCH 32 KEEPERS. FISH WERE MOSTLY FEMALES THAT HAD ALREADY LAID EGGS. I WOULD SAY WHITE OAK CREEK AREA IS NOW POST SPAWN. I HOPE THE 2 FT PLUS DROP IN WATER LEVEL DID NOT LEAVE EGGS HIGH AND DRY.

MOST FISH WERE CAUGHT ON JUNEBUG/CHARTREUSE WITH RED HEAD HOT GRUBS. JOHN DEEERE GREEN AND ACID RAIN ACCOUNTED FOR SOME FISH ALSO.

MY INCONSISTANT AT&T INTERNET CONNECTION IS SO POOR RIGHT NOW THAT I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO POST THE PICTURE OF THE FISH.

THE FISH ARE IN POOR SHAPE AFTER SPAWNING. MANY OF THEM DIE FROM SPAWNING. NATURE WEEDS OUT THE UNHEALTHY ONES BEFORE AND DURING THE SPAWN.

Maybe that would explain why there were so many dead crappie in Beaver creek when I was there Thursday. I noticed several floating and most looked big enough to keep but we suspected they were just short of 10" and were gut hooked.

Congrats on a good day. Thought it might be helpful to know that we were having all sorts of problems with our AT&T DSL hookup. It was on and off line all the time. Finally I asked them you give us a new modem and it has fixed the problem, for us. PS Hope to spend some time on Jordan next week - had to miss last week - just too busy - bad mistake. I can't figure out how I missed the spawn but I simply haven't found them on the shoreline.

Fishspit we didn't find any on the shoreline Thursday either. Water temp got up to
66*. Maybe this week they will be shallow.

saturday at jordan there were dead crappie all over the back of whiteoak!last cove on left going in was on the downwind side early on and it probally had 25 floaters.the G.A.gang spent most of the last 10 days fishing jordan whiteoak, bush, beaver, farington area's.we caught a lot af fish between us.keepers and short, none shallow to amount to anything.what fish may have been shallow were most likely 40 yards back in the woods.the fish on jordan don,t think nothing about spawning in 8 ft.of water!
