Has anybody did any crappie fishing on the haw river side Jordan? Creeks like Kirks ,Stinking, and robeson. I never hear tell of big hauls from these creeks. Is there a good reasonfor this like the fishings no good there. Just curious. The Hooverman!
Hoover,
I've caught a slew of em back there. I think it depends on the time of day and the time of year as to what part of the lake produces the best. For me, I have to weigh in the lightweight jonboat factor too.
"Be Ye Fishers of Men" You catch them- He will clean them
I did very well in stinking creek last year and I have caught some bruts all the way down by the haw! I have not caught a single fish back there this year though. I think the conditions must have to be right. This year has been kind of strange with the drastic weather changes and the water depth over the last couple of weeks. But I usually do well on that side of the lake.
Yes i fished roberson about a month ago and had a blast and i caught some slabs!
I have been over to robeson creek fishing from the bank and I personally didnt do so good that trip but I talked to a couple guys who said they loved fishing there cause the boat ramp was not ever crowded like the others and they got into some slabs ther they said. I would think that there would be some striper fishing up towart the mouth of the Haw around spawning time also.
I did'nt think the crappie were eclusive just to the new hope side. I'll have to try there sometime although gas prices will make my trips to Jordan few. I live neer Winston-Salem and High Rock alot closer.
I live off of peace haven rd and i have been going to highrock myself but there biting good at the rock!
I don,t know about High Rock right now I've been concentrating on jordan ! High rock next week. I live in Lewisville on Lewisville-vienna rd We're in rock throwing distance.
I know where that is im going to highrock sat but i love fishing jordan ! We go camping at crosswinds and i love running lights at night!
