Was out there by first ligh and the fish were just finishing breakfast. I managed 2 right off the bat on a Pop_R and then nothing for an hour after that. Decided to move and got another fish on the top water and that was it. They just turned off totally. I may try it this afternoon late.
Thanks for the report fish,We stopped by there Thur afternoon on the way to the Roanoke and there was no one there at all I was kinda suprised.River looked kinda dead nice to know there are still a few around.
Sorry for late report but I hit the river Friday Morning at 5:45 am. Threw a Rooster tail and a jerk bait till around 7am with no luck. I tied on a Pop R and it was on. I caught 8 White bass and 2 large mouth in the next hour and then the bite turned off. At points I had 3 or 4 fish at a time hitting the Pop R. What a blast to be able to catch them on Top water.
FishCrazy, I was fishing in the same spot as last week. I am going to try for them again Wed morning and again Thur and or Fri afternoon. I will let you guys know how I do. Hopefully they will be there for another week or so????

I went over Sunday afternoon about 4 and lost my pop-r almost on the first cast in that spot. Lone caught and snaped. Didnt have another but threw several other things and nada. Moved down river and nada. Saw a guy that caught 2 but the bite was way off. I guess the morning bite is better. It seems that when the sun gets up good the bite seems to slack off there. It may have another week or so though.
Hey buzzz if you go tomorrow morning try a jitterbug if you got one. I lost the only pop-r I had the other day and the only swirl i got was on a zarra spook walking the dog. The spook I was using was a bit large but I have read that they like some surface agitation. Hard to beat that pop-r though. Let me know what they are doing.
I went this morning and fished for about 2 hrs. Only had one bite and lost it at the bank. Friend of mine went last night and caught 8 small ones up river from the parking lot. I think the end is near. I will let you know if they pick up again. I think it was last year when we caught them again the 2nd week of may.

Thanks Jason. I was afraid of that. Let me know if you see any change in them. Appreciate the report.
