Default Thank you Hotspot! Jordan 4/25

I made it out to the lake about 5pm today. Took Steve's advice and headed down Beaver Creek to try out those back shallows.
Wouldn't you know I couldn't hardly keep my dinkie boat from swaying all over that water! The wind was a bit too much this afternoon and made it hard for me to control and fish too. I took two laps around the block, without success and then went to a calmer place to try.

I came back up toward the bridge, stopping at the cove marked with orange.
There is a shallow area (about 6 1/2'-7 1/2') on the right side of that cove going in. I could not get two poles in the water!:D I did get quite a few 9 1/2" ers, tho. I plucked 15 keepers out of there before the sun started setting. I was throwing everything less than 11" back, because I didn't want to blow my limit on smaller fish. I moved over to the other side of the cove (about 9-11') and couldn't pay for a bite other than a couple little perch.

About 8:30pm, pulled out of the cove and made one last stop at a drop off just before the bridge. Picked up my last 5 keepers there, albeit slowly.

Loaded up the boat and was home by 10:30.

Poor kids. They would have had a ball tonight. It has gotten to the point that when I start loading the boat, both of mine and both the neighbor kids start jockeying for position and begging to go. Looks a little like Jr Daytona in my driveway!
They have another month of school, then it's on!

Dad is planning on coming up from the coast week after next, so my friends didn't get the bounty this time. Gotta have some fried crappie, puppies, slaw and naner puddin' for my Dad!

Thanks again Hotspot. I appreciated your insite and help

    I certainly can be.

Everytime I see a boat of fisherfolks, I wonder if any of em is on crappie.com. I've even asked a couple folks at the ramp before.

If any of ya see an ole jon boat with "Lunker" painted on the side..that be me. Wave howdy, or stop and tell me where they are biting :D

I am coming down in the morning anchorpuller. It's beenmany years since I was there. So if you see a little blue fiberglass trihull that has red and white stripes with rod holder stacked all over it. Wave me down and head me in the right direction.
