Default Better than a poke in the eye

Went to the ole fishin hole yesterday with the intention of casting up some shad and doing some bass fishing since there were NO crappie there last weekend. When I arrived there were not too many folks there but I saw a friend fishing that I had not seen there this year yet and he had 1 crappie and some minnows that he gave me since he was leaving. he said he had been fishing all morning and seemed purdy disgusted that he only found one. So he gave me his minnows and off he went. It was slow the rest of the early afternoon with maybe a fish an hour or so and the later in the day it got the better it seemed. Ended up with 11 by 5PM and left them biting. It wasnt a frenzy but the fish seemed to be good quality fish, Nice and fat. Only caught 1 throw back. Two were pushing 12 inches. I was encouraged that there were not many real small fish. Hoping for that wall hanger this year. Was beginning to think about having that skunk mounted. lol

Nice! 11 will make a nice meal! We were going to fish on the Eno River today but since we had all the rain, I Vetoed that, thinking it was going to be muddy/murky, and fished Falls Lake this afternoon right after the rain stopped. I mean RIGHT after. LOL. Infact it was pouring when we launched the boat at UBC but by the time we made it out to our spot around MM4 it stopped, we just had to put up with the wind swinging the boat. We caugth alot of fish but only had 8 worth puttin in the basket.

Thats OK becaue we ended up with a nice Fish Fry for dinner tonight. Infact my cousin flew in from Oswego, NY and he caught the first fish!

I have a training class this week so I'm not sure when next trip on the water is going to be... Maybe Friday
