went to the weekend spur of the moment. weather was off for boat fishing so i was stuck to pier stuff. the stage was set Friday night for a classic spot run. cold front went threw, full moon, and a tide change just before dark. and it was on!! for about 1.5 hrs. the best part of it all was that there were no more than 10 peeps on the pier!!! anyways i filled a 50 qt cooler, a smaller 15ish qt cooler, and a 5 gallon bucket about 3/4 of the way!! gave a cooler full to the buddy i stay with at the beach, as well as their neighbors. and the rest were taken care of![]()
yesterday we went oyster searching. went to the back of buzzard bay found some likley areas to come back to. but we got stuck with the tide!! the flat bottom got stuck in 6 inches of water for about 2 hrs. thank goodness for us bringing along a 12 pack of bud!!
i left early today but got a call from my friend that they got a whole bushell of oysters at our spot we searched out! cant wait for my batch!
next weekend is a go for our tuna trip again that has been put off 4 times already because of the weather! hopefully the winds will lay low for the trip this time.
if at first you dont succeed............drink another beer
Gotta go.......FISH ON !!
I only fish on days that end in"Y"
yeah that is the way of searching shallow waters - I myself being mostly a shallow water angler have had to push the boat on several occaisions - pretty tough this time of year when the water gets below 70 degrees - I am headed down next weekend to Emeral Isle try to find some specks and reds during the day and will be gigging at night - good luck on the tuna - that is some hard work and can be dangerous as well so you guys be careful - normally takes some rougher water to find the big tunas is my understanding -I know the blue water stuff just ain't my favorite thing to do though I have been a few times - luck to ya see ya at wylie in a month
with my mind on crappie and crappie on my mind -
and if ya'll see Goober later tellem I said duh huh - he'll know what ya mean!!!!!!!!
Sounds like a fun and sucessful trip Pete. Thinking bout them striper down there this winter already. Thinking of giving em a try. Hearing lots of specs on the beach right now. Wouldnt mind getting some of those either.
