Default High Rock - 11/1/06 - With the Next Generation of Fishermen

The fish were as confused as I was today. The bite was slow and I never really could pin point where they were today. Caught some in the shallows, some off of piers and some out in the main channel. Water temp got up to 63 degrees. It was an absolutely beautiful day on the lake. Ended up with only about 10 keepers, but I was fishing by myself.

When I got home, both kids decided they wanted to hold the fish (they have never wanted to do that before). Actually the 3 year old wanted to do it first and I think my 5 year old son just didn't want to be shown up. Anyhow, here they are holding their first fish!

    Way cute!

Better watch out. That is exactly how mine started. Now, I can't go fishing without them hawking me and crying if they can't go!

Good lookin' pics. My buddy and I went out last Sunday in the wind. Turned out to be a good day. He landed 1 weighing 1.7lbs . Really nice fish. I have pics, but no way to post them yet. We caught 61 total with 14 keepers. The closest I came to his was 15oz. I caught one 2 weeks ago at 1.5lbs :D at the same dock as he got his at. The one I caught was missing part of the tail, so at least we know it was not the same fish. The wind was rough most of the day, but around 4pm, it started to die down and it turned out real nice. To bad that is when we needed to load up and head home, before the wifes left us.

1.7 pounds is a nice crappie for that lake. I'm looking next for a day to go out when it isn't 10-20 mph winds. I just never seem to do as well on the windy days.

You're right Tarheel. That is a big weight for this lake. But it seems like we have been catching bigger fish since the fall of 05'. Hope the trend continues.:D
