Thread: Spot Run - Kure

Fished Kure Beach Pier all day today and caught some (10) spot. The run was real narrow - i.e. the end 1/2 of the pier caught NOTHING, and I mean nothing. Off the surf was good, but on the shore end of the pier, just past where the waves were breakin they were pullin em in 2 at a time. Think I'm gonna try carolina beach pier tomorrow.


oh yeah - it was shoulder to shoulder on both sides of the pier after 2pm.

carolina beach pier was a little better on sunday. wind wasnt as rough, and the whole pier was pullin em in from what i could tell. action was spotty at best, seemed real finicky - pompano and pinfish also got in the act. shrimp was the bait preferred, although some did bite the artificial bloodworms (which i love) but not nearly enough - almost seemed they passed on it purposefully. well - spent about 5 hours out there and caught about 10 more. i think thats it for me and the spots this year.
