Glad yall like it. If you want to you can make a couple three batches at one time. Patty the cakes out and flash freeze on cookie sheet. Turn them when half froze. After froze Vacuum seal or put in freezer bag. They don't stick together so you can just take what you want out of bags. Put a little butter in pan and cook on low till brown, flip and cook on other side. Then prepare for your lip to smack your forehead. Haha.

Sounds great! Looking forward to trying it. I'm thinking I would have to save the drained liquid, freeze it, and use it when I make a fish stew.

We cooked some this week and my wife said if she didn't see me put the crappie fillets in the water, she would have thought they were crab cakes. The Zataran is the key to flavoring the meat and with the fish flaking like it does, even looks like picked crab. We pan-cooked some patties in butter and then deep-fried some we rounded. Both tasted great.

I learned recently that the cakes freeze very well. I make a huge batch at a time, stick em in the freezer after cooked, then microwave when ready for a few as a snack. good stuff!
