Cant think of the stuff Pete uses but ive been buying some stuff from Lucas ethanol treatment I use it in my car and boat ,my car gets alittle better fuel mileage with it hope it makes it last longer ,THANKS
never had a problem with this stuff so far. i am somewhat of a stickler about maintenance and additives. my boats are usually fished at least once a week, so for whatever reason it has not been a problem. i am selling my small fleet to be a one boat guy again. bought a five year old boat that has been sitting. the owner has been sick and went out and cranked the boat on the muffs for a year, once a month. one day it would not crank. the reason it would not crank, is that whatever is in this stuff, completely seized the pump. there are deposits that are the bottom of the vst that are unreal. i'm just lucky that the junk was run out of the injectors caused by repeated cranking. this pump costs me about $459.00, and i'm doing the work. this stuff is for real, and the pics that pete and others have shown are a good reminder to take precautions. not trying to beat a dead horse, but its out there and i have seen it.

You probably read my post in the past. It is a real deal and I paid the 500 bucks to learn what the boat dealer (the big one south of Sanford on US1)should have told me when I bought my boat from them. Now I have a 5 micron filter before the engine and I always use Stabill. There are other brands that work just as well. I always use non-ethanol gas and have been able to find it so far.
This is a problem created by our government and the whole concept of ethanol is a lie that is costing all consumers. It cost more to produce a gallon of ethanol than it does gasoline. The BTU value of ethanol is less than gasoline and the colder it gets the less the BTU value. Ethanol by nature absorbs water from the air until it becomes satturated and then it dumps it and starts over leaving you with water in your fuel tank. If this were not enough, the farmers out west are paid subsidies to grow a genetically altered corn that will produce more ethanol and this corn is not fit for consumption by human or live stock. This causes the corn that is growen for market to cost more. All this so you can feel good about "GOING GREEN".
I guess the next thing will be electric outboards and solor trolling motors. At least we won't get tossed about by the "Bass Racers".
LOL Bye the blue stuff and install a filter ahead of your outboard.
Again here is a pic from a prior post i made about a month ago....like simple man and sea dancer said, this stuff is a silent killer. if you dont use your boat at least once every 2 weeks, you are highly at risk. The stuff i use is called Star-tron, and unlike the stabil some use, this stuff is an enzyme that works against ethanol. You will pay a few more dollars per bottle, but its top of the line stuff on the market in my opinion.
Im waiting on the day that someone challenges the government with a class action suit over the addition/harm caused by ethanol.
Thanks to myself deciding to put an inline filter a few years back, i probably saved a lot of money on a maintenance bill

if at first you dont succeed............drink another beer
Gotta go.......FISH ON !!
I only fish on days that end in"Y"
Premium and stabil
I have a micron filter in line on the boat and JUST WON'Tput that stuff in my boat. I sometimes ride 10 miles or so just to get the ethanol free gas. It's the only sure way not to have those problems and it's worth it to me. Hey Simple........let's go fishing
when the wind's not blowing. Keep in touch.
Capt.C........Life's short. Be a friend. Eat good. Have fun and fish hard!
