striper fishin easter sunday
Had a good easter with a church service and spending family, but a man can only put up with just so much of that!
around 1, decided to fish some place closer to home and fish somewhere i NEVER had before...Mt. island lake.
boat in and found some nice bait pretty quick before i knew it i had a tank of pretty threadfins in the tank. i couldnt keep a 4 rod spread out because the bite was so hot.
Kept my 8 fish limit of striper which i plan on bringing to the Jordan social and played catch and release to at least a dozen more. also got a few perch, a few cats, hung what im sure was a cat that i couldnt even slow down until 20 lb line popped, and even a spotted bass that was close to 5 lbs! One of those days.
The highlight of the day was when i gut hooked a 16ish inch striper (with a circle hook) and had to release it dead...few moments later a bald eagle swooped by and picked it up for a easy meal...mother nature at work.

You are the man catching stripers.When I lived in moorsville we called it the dead sea . The only thing that was decent was blue catfish.Glad too see that lake comming alive.Must have something to do with the blue back herring being put in there.I wish they would make their way into Jordan .
