    Default Spot on Norman

Was looking forward to fishing Norman for the first time on Sat at the social, but work reared it's head and had to miss the social. But, the good thing was I had Fri off, so off to Norman I go for the first time. Put in at Long Island, and rode up to Bill's marina to get a few dozen minnows, they have no minnows. So on the way back to the boat a gentelman asked if I needed some minnows, and I said I could use a few, and he gave me some of his. I offered to pay him, but he said next time I see him just say hello. He and his fishing partner also gave me a few tips were to fish. We wished each other luck and were on our ways to do some fishing!! I went down river found me a couple of coves and worked em over good, by the end of the day I had managed 2 crappie, and several small spotted bass. While I was securing the boat down some other gentlemen ask how I did and told em not to goood!!! We commenced to talkin and they helped me out with alot of usefull info, and I was very greatfull and thankfull for their help. So since I did not get to fish Sat I took off Sun morning with a new found confidence and tried it again!!! I want all of ya'll that read my post, know that 95% of the knowledge of crappie fishing I have learned by all of your, and others help along the way to catching more fish!!!! I just want to say THANK YOU!!!! Sunday started out slow, but I kept after em and finally staterd putting a pattern togeather. Brought home 9 keepers 10"-13", 1 catfish 2lb, and 2lb spotted bass. Fished around/under docks, tree laps, and brush, fish were in deeper water and holding close to the bottom. Fished with jigs, and minnows, but all were caught on jigs. Sorry no pics, I busted my camera by having it in my back pocket. Know not to do that again! Thanks again to all who give a helping hand!!!
Ain't nothing like the feel of a good THUMP at the other end of the line!!!
