late report but its a report! finally was able to sneak out for just a few. put boat in just before dark and hit a few of my nightstime spots. had some frozen bait, and hoped to net plenty of herring....came to my baithole and was shocked to see the water temp go from 66 degrees to 77 in just a week!NO BAIT!
snagged a 20 lb flathead that got a release.....moved to some of my lighted docks and caught a few bass...someone was fishing off my #1 dock so decided to throw some topwater plugs in 2 ft of water!bingo!
didnt wear em out, but in 1 hr of casting topwater, got 3 solid striper between 22-24 inches.
was at the ramp around 11:30pm and was shocked for the first time ever getting checked by a game warden there! Never seen it before at night, but happy that they do make an appearance on occasion. i know theres a lot of people out there that keep everything after the twilight hours knowing they will get away with it!
could of caught more on top, but didnt wanna stay out there longer....time to break the plugs out and leave the bait rods at home!
