    Default High Rock 4/23/10

Went to abbott creek at about 9:30am and managed to catch only 6 keepers. Most were white crappies at around 10-12 inches. Longline trolling with minnows and jigs. Caught more catfish then crappies for the first time in my life. Caught 10 catfish most with 3 about 5-8lbs and the rest were decent.

they were down pretty deep today, i was surprised to find them in th 14-16' mark, usally there 12-14', you still got enough for a meal anyway
When in doubt, set the hook.

all of my fish were caught at or around 21-25 feet. Is that too deep? Maybe next time i will try 12-14 but i get snag all the time when i troll in that dept. Season u trolled the main lake? How deep is that usually for u?

no,no, you misunderstood me, i meant my lines were 12-14' down, but i'll fish in water depths of 15'-25', try to keep my lines off the bottom. you catch fish down there but you spend the whole day tying rigs.
When in doubt, set the hook.
