Thread: Badin 3/13 crappie (barely) report

We this afternoon and battled the wind. Fished Garr Creek and Fred's cove then went up river a little farther. Only got two 10 inch crappie and two nice perch. Tightlined jigs and minnow.

Talked to a couple guys at the ramp that got 23, said most of their fish were shallow. We were fishing 20 foot deep most of the day so I guess we were too deep.

Might try it again one evening this week with the time change.

Most of my experience crappie fishing has been beating the banks with jigs or minnows when the fish move shallow. Have had some limited success drifting coves... of course I spend most of my time striper fishing but would really like to get into some crappie (the freezer is a little bare right now!).
