Hey everybody I want to introduce myself. I'm from western NC and I just bought my first boat. Took it out on Lake Adger in Polk County this weekend and caught a few small crappies. None that I would keep but it was good to get some fish stank in the new boat! If anyone has any tips on winter fishing I'd be grateful since I'm from up in Indiana originally and they pretty much drain all the lakes there in the winter so we always just had to put the boat up until spring. Gotta love NC.

welcome crappiematt from high point theres some mighty good fishermen up your way that im sure youre be hearing from
[never snap at the hand that feeds ya
Adger is best known for its muskie fishin but its does hold crappie and bass. Will you be fishing mostly mountain lakes? they are clear and deep for the most part. If you can get to Lake James you might like it a little better.
I can only wish to be as good as my dog thinks I am
James is probably about 1:15 minutes away so I plan on trying that out sometime. However, I don't have a depth finder and never been on that lake so it might be a challenge. Dad might bring the portable fish finder when he comes to visit so I might be in luck there. Would appreciate any tips on Lake James
Adger is only 12 miles away so I went there for the maiden voyage. Getting on the crappie/white bass can be pretty fun there in the spring.
I'll probably be going to Lake Blalock in SC too since its only about 20 miles away and I can afford the out of state pass.
There are about 15 lakes within about 2 hours of here so when I get the boat outfitted a little better I'll probably make some longer trips.
Welcome Matt!
GET IN, SIT DOWN, HOLD ON, AND BE VEWY VEWY QUITE!!!!!
