Fished Smith Mountain lake this past Sat. Weather was beautiful and it brought out the boats. Fished upper Roanoke arm of lake with live bait. Hooked up on first fish when I was taking a picture of my son and the guy fishing with us. You can see the rod going down in the right side of the pic...
Jerry fought him(or should I say the fish fought Jerry!) from a sitting position...
I reccommended that he stand up so he could control the fish, but he said it was small and no problem. Told him to make sure to keep the fish away from the trolling motor. Well, as you can see in the next pic, the fish heads for the TM..
Well, he decides he better get up now. So, he gets up and falls flat on his face...
Now, I'm laughing so hard I can't help him. He somehow gets the rod under the TM and almost knocks the rod on the other side out of the rod holder and in the water....
All the while yelling at me that he was going to lose the rod. Somehow we boated the fish. With all the excitement, I didn't get a pic of that one...
We did catch two more...
My son Jack did battle with the one above. And Jerry caught another one using a little better form this time...
Three stripers, a 29, 31, and 34 incher. All on down rods with live bait.
seems like you had a mishap or 2, but still had a wonderful day!good job
