Default Crappie Jigs For Farm In Loisburg, N.C.

    Hi,

I have a friend that lives near Loisburg, N.C. that fishes in farm ponds. He only uses minnows. He was wanting to try some Crappie Jigs.I know what we use in our area. Would appreciate any suggestion from some of you in this area.

    Thanks, Luremaker358

beetle spins, road runners, and even zoom super flukes if there's monsters in there. I've caught two 3 lb crappie on zoom super flukes in a brush pile in an old pond in johnston county. Took the girlfriend back and she caught two more 3 lb plus crappie on bass minnows off the same brush back to back. Now there are townhouses around the pond and there probably isn't a fish in it over 4" and only the community can fish it. You'd have to figure out the right color for the pond. I found that a blue with a clear sparkle tail jig on a small beetle spin reeled slow and steady close to the bottom is a good one to start with.

Another thing I noticed is sometimes it's all about presentation. I've casted at a brush pile 10 or 20 times before getting the first bite trying to find the "sweet spot" then catch one almost every cast after I find the speed and zone they want to feed in.

Thanks, Whompus Cat even on a large lake you have to find the right color and the right presentation.

in a pond I love a 1.5 inch grub with a 1/32 oz jig with a small hook. You'll catch lots of bream that you wouldn't on a standard crappie jig grub/hook as well as crappie, bass, etc. It also works great in ponds. My fav is the tiny crappie slider esp in bubblegum w/ yellowtail
