    Default Hooks

Has anyone tried the Matzuo sickle hooks. Thought about pouring a few jig heads with them to try. Anyone had any experience?? How do they compare with the eagle claw 570 as far as straightening when hung, holding ability on a fish etc.???

can't say how they straighten out, which is an excellent question, but i sometimes fish with a guy that uses them. he has a lot of hits fairly deep in the roof of the mouth. never saw him lose a fish once it was hooked come to think about it.

i got a couple hundred on 1/8 heads you can have, i lose the most fish withthose things, the are strong sharp hooks, they do not bend out, we bought a 1000 pack of #2 gold last year when cabelas put'em on sell, i don't like'em. try them you'll see what i mean.

also, from the hook point to the eye of the hook is shorter when compared to an eagle claw 570.

I also got some when Cabelas had'em on sale. They been working OK for me. They also had some gold #4 regular sickle hooks on sale and I bought some of those too. I've been using them around docks with minnows and they've been working real well. But a little harder to straighten than the el's.
