    Default badin sunday and monday

had a fun couple days on badin. had a rough week of work so i went solo. needed some me time. found all kinds of channels 35 to be somewhat precise. biggest was 10 lbs. all on cutbait all in shallow water ( 10 ft and less) picked up a couple small blues drifting nothing to write home about..... couldnt find no bigguns like rookie did. Put me on em rookie !!!!

anyway i had a good time by myself and got my head right... i always seem to do that on the lake.

    Default Badin...

alright, here's a little 101 on how to figure out what the bigger fish are doing right now. Them little ones are up shallow feeding like crazy right now and always will be this time of year. I found them a few weeks ago like that near the golf course, but no bigguns. In general, big fish will not hang around all them little ones. Right now the water temp. is dropping and the thermocline has diminished so the fish can go anywhere and be at any depth they want to be. They are moving around a lot and in transition between summer and winter patterns. They are feeding a lot, but you have to get in the right area where the bigger fish are roaming and expect to catch fewer but bigger fish. You won't have may 35 fish days of big blues. 10 big blues is a spectacular day on the water at Badin, one I've never had as a matter of fact. I guarantee you that you ran over top of many 50 lb. blues out there, you just didn't know what to look for, but it's took me many years of studying hard to figure them out and I ain't no expert still!!!! Call me next time you are heading out and I'll share a lil more info. with ya'. I plan to boat at least one over 40 lb. this weekend, maybe more. My cell # is 704-239-7921 and my email is hammills@ctc.net. Call me next time you're heading out and I'll make sure you're in the vicinity of a big boy!!! I don't mind helping a bit and don't hesitate to ask. Them shallow channels are fun though by the way, and you need to get rid of that cut bait stuff right now for a little bit longer if you want a biggun......
