i have seen where everyone has been posting how good the bite was at jordan while i was gone, well we went to today and ended up with our forty but i don't think it went so well for others. the water was muddy, i mean hit the trolling motor and you could literally see the mud stir, water was 68*, the weather was nice and the company was good, by my count there were 17 other boats in the area, it will only get worse. it was nice to be back from that God forsaken lake in sc, and back to where to crappie act like they should, jordan can spoil you. one interesting note, every single color i tried today produced fish, and i try a lot, that is very rare, the fish were10'-12' over a wide variety of depths, i saw fish down around the 15'-16' mark but was catching to many others to try for them. i saw chief out there today and another guy in a pontoon that had a nc crappie.com sticker, so maybe we'll get some more reports.
Glad your back on this side of the border where there is a better class of crappie.:D:D
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
good report and welcome home...I went throught SC a while back, and Georgia and Alabama...just as quick as I could...ain't no place like NC.
Yea, Gobbler, Klu and I were out there in amongst the armada. Started out pretty good, but then I ran out of the fish and just hit a single here and there for a long while. Was enjoying the day too much to care whether we caught many fish. We ended up with 18, but only 5 over 13". Everything I caught was on some combo with chartruese, 9-11' deep in 11 to 16'.
chief you catching anything on the condos? I need to mosey down that way one time in the next couple of weeks.
Poppop,
As far as I can tell, we need to hire an agent to get those condos occupied. I have caught a few on them earlier, but no biguns. Optimistically, the fish have not been near the locations where we put the condos and the lake has been 3-4 ft low so they are only in about 10' of water right now. I'm hoping we'll find some new residents when the fish move back to the other side of the bridge.
The condos we put out at HR 2 or 3 years ago haven't been produceing much either. Rick you still want to mess with them this fall?
Dave, we have got a meeting of the minds on those condos the 24th of this month (check the sticky on the condos for the location). This is to firm up some resources. We then hope to build, and drop them in Jan.
