The day was beautiful but the fishing sucked, took me forever to find them, started out looking in about 14 ft of water.... nothing.... went close to the banks.... nothing.... started trolling slow away from the bank and found em stacked up on a big drop off in 26-29 ft of water suspended at about 16 ft...
Caught 2 pecker heads but that was it...
Had battery problems earlier....
last time I went to the lake I had 2 batteries hooked together (12 volt sys) one was a high doller agm battery another was a 1 yr old diehard deep cycle.... anyhoo as soon as I fired the trolling motor up the fishfinder was beeping low voltage..... took one battery out same problem....
took the boat home and pulled one of the batteries (the agm) it did not appear to be charging, put the lone diehard back in and off to the lake I go this morning.
fired trolling motor up, and within 5 mins same low voltage crap... pulled the caps on the battery and they were bone dry.... took water from the minnow bucket and filled them and battery charged instantly and I fished for 2-3 hours with it and it was at 75% when I got home...
wonder if I hurt that battery?
You hurt it some but not bad if you were already @75% when you got home.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
I got 2 bucks and a duracell D-cell half used. Will that help?:D

i've dunked batteries in the surf before when we use to walk and gig. after the shock of getting them back on the tube they would last the night. like nat said, your probably ok. running it dry probably did more damage than the minnow water.
