    Default Harkers Island

A couple days at Harkers Island. The Spanish were biting like crazy. We caught all we wanted!

Nice fish! My mom and dad had a place on Harkers Island. I used to fish a lot around the lighthouse but around the time I finished high school I lost interest. Great pictures of the lighthouse, brings back a lot of memories.

same here Turkey...my uncles inlaws lived on Harkers Island for all their lives. I can remember as a young boy spending several weeks each summer down there fishing with my uncle (who was the same one that got me into fishing). I remember we found a farm pond somewhere on that island, the water was almost as black as ink it seemed. But it was full of huge bream, I mean big ones. Those were the days.

appreciate those Spanish as they'll be gone soon. I'm heading down this weekend and was hoping the cold would hold off....always hate to see them go but know the trout will show shortly

If any of you are ever on Harkers Island and know where the "Local Yokel" is, if you turn down the driveway to get to his boat, the house at the back end of the boat basin was ours.
