Thinking about either Abotts or Flat Swamp

never been to high rock lake be for i under stand that it is a good lake to fish i live in boone if i go to the rock how is the best way to go and a good place to put a 20ft toon in ive been reading the message bord sounds like a good place all so any camp grounds to put a tent up for a day or 2 when weather is good thanks dollar

i would come 421 to 40 bypass to 311 to 85 south to RTE 8 and launch at Southmont. You can camp at High Rock campground/Marina in abbotts creek. I am sure ther are other placed you can camp and launch. the great folks on here will not stear you wrong.

I drive from Lexington to Boone for every App State football game. Believe me I know all of the shortcuts. From Boone come 421 south to 40 which is the Greensboro exit. Go to Hwy 52 south to Lexington and stay on 52 south to I-85 Bypass north. On I-85 bypass north take exit 91 which is Hwy 8 south. You can also follow the High Rock Lake signs. It should take you about 2 hours. You can also do a Mapquest or Google and look for anything on Hwy 8 south of Lexington such as Southwood Elementary School. This will give you the exact route, just don't turn into the school. Keep on going to the lake. Good Luck and go APP STATE. Four for Moore Baby.

Good to see another Boone Goon on here! I'm ASU class of '93 and I get up there for about 1/2 of the games each year. Good win over them dam 'Cats today without Armanti. I watched it on TV today and I'm going fishing tomorrow on Badin for stripers. Tough weekend.

I will be going up this coming weekend to see the first playoff game. Won't know until Sunday who it will be but I will be there to welcome them to "THE ROCK". Three more games and we are off to NOOGA.
