HA! Anybody who stole it would be caught "red handed" a couple days later!

If I'm not fishing, or working, then I'm probably hunting. Last night I embarked on a 480 mile trip along the coast to look for ducks. Here's a couple pictures of some ducks over an impoundment. Wish I had a better camera but this will do for now. I was shocked at how much sign of bear there was along the dikes and paths. They are THICK. As were the deer and turkeys.

Now I face the tough decision to scout tomorrow or crappie fish. A good problem to have I must say.

Default Ecclectic Mix

Below are a couple pics from fall thus far.

First, my guard dogs, Samson (left) and Sadie (right). I was fortunate to have my camera handy when they were aligned with the ADT signs in the background.

Second, Red-humped Oakworms (Symmerista canicosta) on water oak (Quercus nigra). Their heads are the orange ball end. The sun was filtering through just right for the shot!

Third, a sure sign that fall is well underway is the emergence of Arums. In this case, Arum italicum 'Marmortum' from Plant Delights Nursery. It's really easy to grow, and stays shiny green in the winter but goes dormant in the summer--It's a must have companion to Hostas!

Default What type of bush is this?

I got a cutting of this bush down at my hunting lease a few years back. It came from the front yard of an old house circa early 1800's. I have not clue what it is..but the limbs has small thorns. Maybe Crat know? Thanks in advance

Chaenomeles speciosa-flowering quince

Old fashioned shrub which flowers fully in late winter/early spring; but as you can see it will flower partially at other times of the year. It's in the rose family. My grandfather has a few in his yard back in Peoria, Il.
