Default Rhodhiss 8/22

Another pretty good night for Rhodhiss. Caught @ 40 between 9pm & 11:30.
All on minnows between 10 & 15'. Had minnow issues or woulda caught more.
My #1 supplier had none. Said he bought extra on tuesday, expecting a big weekend. By friday, all were dead. Went to a different store, & they had probably 500 dead, floating in the tank. Said they had new minnows under the dead ones. They had gotten a new shipment in friday morning & dumped them into the tank without cleaning it or removing the dead ones.
How smart is that ?????? Didn't think they'd last, but had no choice. Bought 10 dozen & by the time I anchored, 3 dozen were dead.
Ended up jigging dead minnows after 11 pm & caught 8 or 9 keepers.
Put two or three dead minnows on two other rods & dropped them to the bottom to see if Mr. Catfish my be hungry & ended up with 10 catfish to go with the crappie.

Thanks guys, Rhodhiss has been good for numbers the last 5 weeks. Unfortunately, we dont have the size ya'll catch on High Rock & Jordan, but its been pretty good the last two years. Skeeterdude caught a 12 " crappie on the first minnow in the water & thats a trophy for us. Most fish run 8-10 inches here. Not a bad little lake for us "foothill fishermen".

Hey Crowder ! Are you home yet ? Good to hear from you & hope the Alaskan summer was great. Might be outta your way, but I'm a big fan of the minnows from Blue Ridge Sports in Glen Alpine on Hwy 70, across the rr trax from the post office. Terry & Dottie seem to have bigger & livelier minnows than the stores in Rutherford College. Haven't had a problem all summer with their minnows. Very hearty.
