Never have any family show up to sign the book. I get stiffed (no pun intended) for every burial I do, can't even rustle up pall bearers. Can I petition the county or state to try recoup any of my fee? Them dam soap boxes aint free ya know, florist, burial lot, etc... I mean I already told you I never got far enuf to learn anything about embalming and such but I do wipe the cheese or peanut butter off their lips and try take some of the dent outta their noggins. I really do need a secure place for the bodies to lie until they are ready for burial, been having a problem with cats eating my cadavers.

Well, around here the county will pay the funeral home $500 for final expenses if the family of the deceased can prove that the deceased has nothing. With today's government the way it is you could probably go to your local government office and apply for this. Take some PETA people with ya for effect. $500 for transporting remains, other care and preperation, a casket, a service, burial plot, opening/closing of the grave....man, that's a heck of a deal. I'm sure your county would reimburse you for those expenses on behalf of the deceased.

Shoer, It could be worse. he could have asked You to haul him back to Texas and bury him in a little grove of Pecan trees just outside Lonesome Dove.CF

I'd consider it just for the adventure & break in the monotony. Clara's Grove,
yep ol Gus courted her there. The dude who played the sheriff at Blue Ducks' hanging was a local boy (Katy, TX) What a great story. I read the book first and cant remember what day it is but remember it was 942 pages long in paperback.

I figgered you'd be around around in short order Ed, with death the topic of discussion.
If it makes ya feel any better I hauled off 2 of Micks' kinfolk today who are making an irksome habit of trespessing in my garden. If there are ever any cards with money given as memorials I plan to split it between the American Cheese Council and Victor Trap Co.
