but it just wasnt meant to be.
Got a little time to slip off yesterday...actually I didnt....gf wanted me at home to help clean butttttttttttttt
Slipped off to Long Island and went to dock X to soak some minnows and jig a little. Caught a few lilns on a jig. That bite quit, put a minnow on a white....well, beat up white jig head....saw a little twitch, then as the boat rocked, the line would get more tension on it, like it was hung up. Picked it up and there was a head shake.....felt like a good fish. Told my buddy it felt good but Ive been wrong before. Already had a 14"er in the boat and this one dwarfed it. Big white male crappie. Ive caught a couple 16"ers and it was bigger then them......of course as soon as it gets to the top of the water, the jighead I thought was stuck good, deep in the roof of the mouth, popped out.

......oh well, guess I will keep at it.
Wished I could say it was the biggest Ive lost, but I lost a big black crappie back in the spring that I honestly think would have gone close to 3lbs. Oh well, thats why they call it fishing and what makes you want to keep coming back for more and more.
OH YEAH....went back to the honey hole after that and caught a 1.5-2lb bass.....got around a chain (but I got it in easily ) and lady comes walking by and says "thats what happens when you fish around other peoples property"
The honey hole not only produces crappies but plenty of "brown eyes" if ya get my drift.
