My wife and I plan to camp at Badin this coming weekend. Worth trying crappies? I see lots of night fishing - but do they bite during day? If all else fails, can dragging bait on bottom work for catfish?

I'd Say Its Worth Giving The Crappie A Shot There Ktags. From What I'm Hearing, And That Ain't Much, The Fish Are Doing About The Same In Badin As The Rock. Look For Them Shallow Before The Sun Gets High And Then Move With Them When They Go Down. I Hate To Say It But You Might Want To Take Some Minnows. I'd Say Bumpin The Bottom For Cats Will Also Be Productive. It Is For Us And We Don't Really Go After Them. Good Luck. Where Ya Camping Down There?

I haven't fished it since July, but it has plenty of crappe and lots or perch. Fish it like you would anything else. The more open water you get in, the more perch you'll find. You can nightstalk there, but if blueback herring show up under the lights, you can hang it up, thre will be very few crappie around. I don't know why this is. Drifting for cats will work good. Use perch fillets or live perch dropped straight down a turn or two off the bottom. Fish ledges around 20 ft. for cats. Good luck!
